The Calgary Expo (AKA Full Frontal Nerdiness!)

The Guru Crew invaded the land of cowboy hats and very large buildings (no, not Texas... our cousin city to the South, Calgary) for the annual Calgary Comic and Entertainment Exposition (or as everyone calls it, the Calgary Expo). We arrived with technological equipment, postcards, pins, and Dubble Bubble!

This year's show was star-studded and jam packed with artists from all over Canada and U.S. drawing, signing and selling their wares to fans of all ages and sizes. This is the place where you can have coffee with a wookie or share a hot dog with a vampire. Everywhere you turn there was a feast for the eyes!

We were fortunate to have one of our faculty members, Nat Jones, spend time at our booth drumming up excitement about our upcoming Digital Illustration and Sequential Art Diploma program. If you've ever wanted to get into the world of professional comic book creation, this is your chance to spend 10 months studying with one of the best in the business.

Nat starting a drawing of Spawn. Perhaps he was inspired...

Getting into it. This is only after about 10 minutes work.

20 minutes later, the piece is blowing minds.

A zombie, one of many at the show, seems transfixed by our technology.

We tweeted pictures of the attendees throughout all three days.

Big shout out to Tom Young for sharing his excellent photos of the event!
