Digital Illustration and Sequential Art

The Digital Illustration and Sequential Art (DISA) program at Guru Digital Arts College is designed to meet the growing need for qualified entry-level illustrators and sequential artists who demonstrate professional skills in drawing and an understanding of the figure; concepts and storytelling; the use of colour to convey feeling and mood; perspective and compositions; mastery of technique, both traditional and digital; content, marketability and presentation.
In the DISA program each student develops a unique portfolio that demonstrates a personal style and high level professional skills. Graduates from this program enter the job market showcasing the skills of illustrators in advertising, publishing, digital publishing, comic books/graphic novels, concept artist/visual development in video games and film, editorial illustration and many other growing fields.
Led by Nat Jones, a respected graphic novel and comic book veteran, and Lee Nielsen, a veteran of the ACAD Fine Arts program, students in this program will enjoy a learning experience unlike any other in Alberta.
